London, UK 24 october 2014. The Nokia 6230 (2004). The once-ubiquitous nokia brand has been dropped by new owners Microsoft in favour of its own Lumia which runs Windows Phone OS to rival Google’s Android and Apple’s iOS systems. The tech giant bought Nokia’s mobile division in April for £4.6bn ($7.2bn ) along with a 10-year deal to use the Finnish company’s name on smartphones. The company name will live on as a provider of telecom hardware and maps. Credit: David Mbiyu/ Alamy Live News
