Willy Fries (1907 - 1980) was active/lived in Switzerland.  Willy Fries is known for Painting.

Willy Fries was born in the Swiss parish of Wattwil in 1907.  He studied art and literary history at the University of Zurich.

During stays in Paris and Berlin, he studied art history and philosophy.  Additionally, the artist learned the technical craft of painting.  Fries created numerous works for the public sphere in Switzerland and Germany.  He showed his works in Switzerland and abroad.

In 1970, he was awarded the Rembrandt Prize by the Johann Wolfgang Goethe-Stiftung in Salzburg.
