Kelly had a two-hour conversation with Dax Shapard, who hosts one of the most popular podcasts in the world called ‘The Armchair Expert’. If you don’t know Shapard, he’s a comedic actor and former host of the iconic MTV show ‘Punkd’ back in the day with Ashton Kutcher. Dax is hilarious and gets vulnerable in his poddy, not afraid to discuss his issues, such as dealing with addiction. Shapard’s skills on the mic scored him a deal similar to Joe Rogan’s $100 million contract with Spotify.
Anyway, the podcast which is apart of Kelly’s Make or Break media run is really a therapy session and maybe the closest we’ll get to understanding the GOAT’S psyche.
The episode kicked off with some Pamela Anderson talk. Then Kelly spoke about his traumatic childhood, how his former manager similar to Elvis’s wanted him to be an actor (not a world champ surfer), spirituality, psychedelics, how Baywatch could have been the greatest comedy ever, his thoughts on fellow GOAT’S and much more. Arguably Kelly’s best podcast yet.
Enjoy!
In other Slater news, he shared that he might retire for the 100th time. Talking to the Guardian, Kelly’s new aspiration is to qualify for the 2024 Olympics in France and then sail off into the sunset. Kelly’s got to compete with the likes of John John, Griffin, Zeke and Kolohe for one of the two USA spots. It ain’t going to be easy, but anything is possible when you’re talking about the GOAT.
