The Gold Dust Day Gecko is a diurnal species of gecko. It lives in northern Madagascar, and on the island of Comoros; it has also been introduced to Hawaii and other Pacific islands. They typically inhabit bamboo clusters within the jungle. Traditional coloration of the Gold Dust Day Gecko is a bright green or yellowish green with yellow speckles on the neck and the upper back. On the lower back there are three tapering red bars and the gecko’s upper eyelids are a bright blue.

HAWAIIAN BLUE-CROSS:

A cross between a Solid Morph (Phelsuma Laticauda) and a Hawaiian Blue (Phelsuma Laticauda). Hawaiian Blue-Cross geckos generally have a greenish-blue tint from the middle of their back, to the tip of their tail. Red footprints on the geckos back are still highly visible. We are currently in the process of determining whether the Hawaiian Blue-Cross geckos are Heterozygous (HET). Although we have not yet determined it, we are very confident that they are HET and do carry the Hawaiian Blue gene. When bred with another Hawaiian Blue or Hawaiian Blue-Cross, full Hawaiian Blue hatchlings would be the offsprings color morph.

SOLID MORPH:

Very bright and almost solid, neon coloration. They can also be distinguished by the lack of red/orange “footprints” on their back. We are unable to determine Solid color variation until the gecko is at least 10 months of age or older. Therefore, Solid hatchlings/juveniles are not available.

Adult Size: 4.5 - 6”

Lifespan: 10+ Years

Conservation Status (IUCN): Least Concern
