Willy Fries began his academic years in Berlin in 1929. He captures his impressions of big city life during the late 20s in this series.
The woodcut series “Gottlos” was shown in 1931 at an exhibition in Berlin in the house of the Free Jury, Platz der Republik 4, opposite the Reichstag.
