Progeria also known as Hutchinson-gilford progeria syndrome is a genetic disorder that causes a child to age rapidly. It is caused by mutation of a gene known as lamin A(LMNA) and is not hereditary.
The child usually does not grow or gain weight normally and begins to get diseases normally seen in old age.
