Beth Chapman, who rose to fame on Dog the Bounty Hunter, died this morning in Hawaii. She was 51. The news was shared by her husband, Duane 'Dog' Chapman, in a Twitter post.

A spokeswoman for the family confirmed the news to CNN, noting that Beth died surrounded by her family.

Over the last few days, Beth's family shared touching photos from her hospital bed.

Beth's daughter Bonnie shared a tear-jerking Instagram post in tribute to her mom with the caption, “So thankful to call you my mother.” Bonnie included several photos of Beth, including one with Bonnie holding Beth’s hand on what appears to be a hospital bed.

Yesterday, Duane also shared a close-up of Beth’s bedazzled manicure. “You all know how she is about HER NAILS !!” he wrote. In the photo, you can also see Beth's hospital bracelets and IV.

Beth was first diagnosed with stage two throat cancer in September 2017. Soon after, she endured a grueling 13-hour surgery to remove the tumor. Beth relapsed in November 2018 and had been fighting stage four throat cancer for several months.

Last Friday, she was admitted to the ICU in Hawaii after she had difficulty breathing and briefly passed out, USA Today reports. Doctors put her in a medically-induced coma soon after arriving to help spare her from pain while she received treatment, family spokesperson Mona Wood-Sword told the Associated Press.

Beth, who became the youngest licensed bail bondswoman in Colorado history at age 29, found fame on the A&E reality show, Dog the Bounty Hunter. The series followed the couple and their family business hunting fugitives from 2004 to 2012. She and Dog married on May 20, 2006 in Hawaii after 16 years together.

After she revealed her cancer diagnosis, she and Dog appeared on the A&E Special series Dog and Beth: Fight of Their Lives, which documented her doctor's visits, Beth sharing her diagnosis with her family, and the 13-hour surgery she underwent to remove her tumor tumor.

Beth leaves behind her husband, children, and many fans. Our thoughts are with the entire family.
