Have You Driven a Ford (With a Flux Capacitor) Lately?

In anticipation of Back to the Future Day on October 21, the automaker will offer a very special option for time-travel enthusiasts.
Have You Driven a Ford Lately

The run-up to October 21, 2015—the day Marty and Doc Brown travel to in Back to the Future Part II—has seen anyone and everyone even tangentially related to the film getting in on the fun of celebrating the actual day of time-travel. Pepsi created a $20 limited edition bottle of Pepsi Perfect, you can now message with Doc Brown through his Facebook profile, and Mondo is releasing the full scores of all three Back to the Future films on vinyl with over 20 minutes of previously unreleased music cues from each film. Hell, The Hundreds are issuing a streetwear collection based on the movie's apparel.

And then there’s Ford. Seeing as how the DeLorean Motor Company has been out of business for decades, the American automaker filled the video touting the Flux Capacitor as a limited-time feature option for its Focus and Fiesta models. Of course, the fine print at the bottom of the screen warns: “For recreational use only. Interfering in major historical events is illegal and could have unintended consequences for all of humanity.” Take heed, potential Fiesta or Focus buyer, and get ready for even more products riding the coattails of Back to the Future Day over the next few days.
