OLDHAM CO. (WHAS 11)--A community is in mourning after learning a 15-year-old student at south Oldham High School was killed in Georgia.
Jacob Davis was with his family on their way to Florida for spring break when they were involved in a crash.
Jacob was thrown from the car. He was flown to a hospital in Tallahassee where he died.
His family says they will donate his organs.
A family friend set up a go fund me account to help raise money to fly the Davis family home.
Principal Jeff Griffin at south Oldham high school sent this statement regarding Jacob's tragic death.
"Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Davis family as we mourn the loss of their son, Jacob. The entire SOHS family will miss him greatly. District counselors will be available as needed for students when we return to school on April 11."
