We visited by chance and had a superb meal. Greeted and served by happy, friendly Mum and daughter team. Lovely family run restaurant and we were helped to choose an excellent local wine. Recommended

We visit this area often however this was our first time eating here. Like others who have written previous reviews we were surprised by just how lovely the interior of the restaurant is. We chose the Menu du jour and thoroughly enjoyed it - the...food was outstanding and the service was friendly and attentive. We will definitely return! Thank you for a wonderful lunch.More

Dont be put off by the entrance as the restaurant is upstairs and the decor is light and airy. Personally I thought the menu choices were rather limited and the sauces were very rich and quite strong. It wasn't clear that the set menu was...only available at lunchtime. I was disappointed that the sea bass had been substituted for salmon and not some other more local fish. Entres in particular were quite pricy. There was only one other table occupied when we were there and the staff were very attentive I preferred 'A Table' to thus placeMore

We had passed this restaurant many times but as you can't see what it is like from the road had not eaten there. However, when they offered a set lunch at a more affordable price we thought we would try it. We were really surprised...when taken upstairs to a very attractive open space with a terrace. I had a Mediterranean Salad to start then crevettes which were very tasty. Dessert was a round choux bun with grand marnier which was super. The wine though was very expensive.More

My wife and I revisited this restaurant one evening last week, for the first time since it had re opened after the fire. My wife and some friends had eaten lunch there and said how nice and good value it was. The restaurant has been...tastefully and comfortably fitted out in Savoyard style. The welcome was warm and friendly. The food was delightful and the choice excellent without being overbearing. You can buy wine by the glass, which is great if you are driving. I think because we live close by in a nearby village, sometimes you forget the excellent restaurants on your doorstep. We will certainly be visiting again.More

This restaurant has been rebuilt (after a fire) to a superb standard. The food was beautifully presented and the taste was balanced. The wine was diverse with local options. Service was good but a little slow on arrival. When leaving one had a great feeling...of contentment.More

Run by the owners - The choice and quality of food was simply superb and the quantity served equally surprising. Throughout our 2 week trip in the Pyrenees which started in the Cathar Country and ended in San Sebastian this was the best restaurant we...experienced, by a long way! Simply 1st class and if your in Couiza or the area, not to be missed!More

Nice restaurant, good food and friendly people! We went on a Tuesday and wanted to make a reservation which was only possible 3 days before. But after sending a mail it was all ok. Food was very nice and good wine. Price is not low,...but i should pay this also in The Netherlands. If we had more time we would go there a second time.More

All the usual Savoie dishes - Raclette, Tartiflette and others - but fantastic Fillet de Boeuff and Maigrat a la Canard. Wooden interior reminiscent of a ski chalet. Very relaxed atmosphere.

We bought our guest here for an evening meal. It has a very pleasant interior and is set up for Raclette although this needs to be booked ahead - which we didn't do and therefore couldn't do! Beautiful presentation of food (See photos) but service...was average only and taste the same. Style rules over substance but it was a pleasant night out all the same!More

We came here for a late lunch. A word of caution; do not expect to get served from about 2 to 2:30pm onwards in France for lunch, as they close their kitchens early! This is a beautiful place with a log cabin feel; and it...appeared to be very popular with the locals. We ordered lasagne, which was really tasty and very well presented. The only downer was the waitress, who was very unfriendly - non French speakers beware as well as she said she didn’t speak English! Luckily I speak Spanish so there was no problem for us. Would I go again? Probably, if I was in the area. But not for the service! Just the beautiful setting and great food!More

We met two other friends here for lunch. We had not booked and despite the restaurant being empty when we arrived at 12.15 it seemed to cause some confusion. The lady asked us four times if we had booked and kept insisting that we must...have done despite us explaining that the name she kept quoting was not us. We were slow in ordering and the lady was not amused and made that quite evident. We ordered the menu of the day at 15 € per person which seems good value but the pumpkin soup was thin and under- seasoned and the choucroute quite simply very poor indeed. None of us ate all of it. The crème caramel was quite good although I doubt that it was home made. There is no house wine available by the carafe, only half bottles (12 € for 37.5cl). I have never visited a restaurant in France that did not have house wine available. The décor is very nice but the restaurant has over a hundred places and while we had no problem with speed of service I am not surprised that there are so many other complaints in reviews for slow service. Over a hundred covers is far too many for a small restaurant and service must suffer when they are busy. The food was poor and we did not feel very welcome. 98 € for four people for lunch (with no choice) including a litre of sparkling water, four coffees and a half bottle of wine is far too expensive for what was a very disappointing meal.More
