Sergey Brin, co-founder of Google and the world’s seventh-richest man, has filed for divorce from his wife.
Brin, 48, gave “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split from Nicole Shanahan, a lawyer he married in November 2018.
Legal papers filed in Santa Clara, California, say: “All issues as to the property rights or obligations of the parties will be determined by confidential binding arbitration in accordance with a written agreement between the parties.”
Brin, who founded Google with Larry Page in 1998, is seeking joint custody of the couple’s two-year-old daughter.
He has asked that his estranged wife, who is reportedly in her thirties, is not awarded spousal support.
