If you’ve opened up your phone or spoken to a lesbian in the last month, you’ve probably already heard the glorious news: Reneé Rapp and musician Towa Bird are officially dating.
Stans were already speculating and praying the musical match made in heaven were a pair, as videos from Reneé Rapp’s Snow Hard Feelings tour appeared on sapphic TikTok For You pages everywhere. Many feature the two kneeling torso-to-torso as Bird plays her guitar while Rapp sings mere inches away from her face.
While neither have spoken about their relationship directly, Rapp did imply she was seeing someone new in a February interview with The Hollywood Reporter. After months of fan theories, the couple hard-launched their relationship at the Vanity Fair Oscars party this week as they walked the red carpet together for the first time.
The two have only been publicly dating for two days, but that doesn’t mean we can’t look at all the cute moments they’ve already had and be happy for them. Here is a timeline of their relationship so far:
April 2023: Rapp and Bird are seen posing together at a Coachella off-site party
We don’t know exactly when the couple first met, but Rapp and Bird were first seen together at Coachella 2023, where they posed for pictures together at an off-site party. We can assume the pair hit it off enough to earn Bird a spot in Rapp’s Snow Hard Feelings tour.
September 15, 2023: Bird joins Rapp on the Snow Hard Feelings tour
Bird has repeatedly said she dreams of becoming the “lesbian Paul McCartney,” which unsurprisingly makes her a great addition to Rapp, the formerly “bisexual Justin Bieber,” and her music. Fans of the two were ecstatic when Bird joined Rapp on her Snow Hard Feelings tour in September, sharing videos of the pair performing.

Their onstage chemistry was so magnetic that fans quickly began speculating online about the nature of Bird and Rapp’s relationship months ago. Most videos of Bird and Rapp go a little something like this: Rapp sings, Bird plays guitar, and they both stare into each other's eyes. Some chalked it up to good stage presence and acting. Others thought something more was definitely going on.

“And suddenly I’m starting to believe in the Towa Reneé dating allegations,” a different person commented under another video of Rapp and Bird performing while draped in a lesbian flag.
February 26, 2024: Bird tells Them that her and Rapp are very close
In a February interview with Them about her forthcoming album American Hero, Bird says that she has an “incredibly close” relationship with Rapp.
“We would hang out backstage, and then go and do our sets, and then come back and hang out together again,” Bird says. “She really cares about her craft and really cares about her audience and puts in the hours and the work. I’ve always felt like a pretty hard worker, and I really give a shit. To see someone at her level give a shit as much as I do — it’s totally inspiring to be around.”
February 28, 2024: Rapp hints she’s seeing someone
Just a few days after Bird’s interview with Them published, Rapp told The Hollywood Reporter two important pieces of information: she’s a lesbian and she’s recently been in a relationship.
“I’ve only recently started referring to myself as a lesbian, and I’ve only recently been in a relationship where I’m like, ‘Yeah, I’m a lesbian for sure,’” Rapp says.
While we don’t know if that’s a direct nod to Bird, the timing is impeccable.
March 5, 2024: Bird posts a video of the pair letting it linger onstage while covering The Cranberries
Almost as if to add fuel to the speculations and hope to our little gay hearts, Bird posted a TikTok of her and Rapp performing a cover of “Let It Linger” by The Cranberries during the last show of the Snow Hard Feelings tour.
Her caption read, “When d*kes linger” followed by a smiley heart emoji.

March 10, 2024: The couple hard launch their relationship at the Vanity Fair Oscars party
Much to the sapphic internet’s delight, Bird and Rapp confirmed the suspicions that they were dating while serving absolute looks at the year’s biggest night in film. On Sunday, March 10, the two made their red carpet debut together with Rapp sporting a white billowy button-up meets floor-length gown ensemble and Bird wearing a denim nudie suit.

As to be expected, queers everywhere rejoiced at the news of the official power couple.
“Oh we knew but now we KNOWWWWW,” a user commented under the Vanity Fair TikTok of Rapp and Bird.
“Seeing this after the hard launch is an experience,” another commented under a video of the two performing on the Snow Hard Feelings tour.
The tour might be over, but we have a feeling that won’t be the last time we see Bird and Rapp performing together while gazing into each other’s eyes — and we are absolutely here for it.
