A young British executive at Google has been named as the new girlfriend of the internet giant’s billionaire co-founder Sergey Brin, who is married and 14 years her senior.

Amanda Rosenberg, 26, who describes herself as “a Brit living in California”, is said to have begun a relationship with Mr Brin, 40, who has parted from Anne Wojcicki, his wife of six years.

Miss Rosenberg has worked closely with Mr Brin, who has a personal fortune of $22 billion (£14 billion) as a marketing manager for Glass, the company’s much-vaunted computerised spectacles.

She is believed to have attended the University of Leeds before joining Google in London in 2008 after graduating. She transferred to the firm’s headquarters in San Francisco last year.

Writing on a friend’s blog, she described being nervous about her move abroad after enjoying a “beautifully choreographed life in London for pretty much my entire life”.

She joked about someone in her position trying to ensure her “new boss” would “like me immediately” and recommended meeting “office people outside the office” as a way to integrate with new colleagues.

In postings on Google Plus, the firm’s social network, she spoke of her love for British comedy and her delight at sneaking British-English spellings of words such as “favourite” into her work in the US.

Miss Rosenberg was named as Mr Brin’s new partner by Valleywag, a Silicon Valley news blog.

She was previously linked romantically to Hugo Barra, another senior executive at Google who recently left the company in order to work for a Chinese telecommunications firm.

Ms Wojcicki, also 40, is the chief executive of a biotechnology firm that Google in which Google invested millions of dollars. Her sister also works for the internet search company.

There is no suggestion Miss Rosenberg, who could not be reached for comment, was involved with Mr Brin while he was still in a relationship with his wife, with whom he has two children.
