Audrey Mika is taking us to simpler times in her new video for "Y U Gotta B Like That."

In the Nicholas Jandora-directed video, the singer sits at an iMac desktop computer chatting on AOL Messenger with KYLE about their fractured relationship. But in real life, the 19-year-old has nothing but love for the rapper. “The original [idea] was sorta a screw you song to people saying things about you that aren’t true," Audrey tells Teen Vogue. "[But] I genuinely love KYLE’s energy and vibe and it was a perfect fit. And I was super excited to be able to shoot a music video with KYLE and be able to say 'hi' and hang out together.”

Shot in separate spaces, Audrey is seen going from her bedroom to the living room to the backyard; social distancing, while singing. And while the video was shot before California's mandatory quarantine was put in place, the video is a nod to how many of us are living and communicating with friends in this time of social distancing. It's also not too far off from how Audrey has been spending her time during the coronavirus pandemic. "I've been trying to stay busy in quarantine by making music, skating, cooking, binge-watching TV shows," she says.

If the song sounds familiar, it's because "Y U Gotta Be Like That," was released last summer and garnered over 806k videos on TikTok. Audrey, who gained fame from her YouTube page, dropped her EP 5 A.M. the top of 2020, which includes “Y U Gotta B Like That” as well as “Fake Heartbreak."

Before the lockdown, Audrey was on a successful spring tour. Hopefully, once it is safe to travel, she'll be back to performing bops like this one.
