The upcoming Nintendo Switch version will have features exclusive to the console, such as the partial usage of touchscreen controls while playing with the console in its portable Handheld Mode. It will also support Joy-Con controls that can emulate the twin sticks controller used in the original arcade version.

Densha de GO!! Hashirou Yamanote-sen was first revealed by Square Enix in September 2020, during the lead-up to Tokyo Game Show 2020. As a console port of Taito’s 2017 arcade game, it will let the player become a train conductor for some of Japan’s famous train lines. As implied by the title, it will focus on the looping Yamanote Line that goes all around Tokyo. It also includes the new Takanawa Gateway station, which was established in March 2020.

The console port adds more gameplay modes that do not exist in the original arcade version, such as a Free Run mode. The game is also available on the PlayStation 4, which has an exclusive VR mode accessed with PlayStation VR.

The Nintendo Switch version of Densha de GO!! Hashirou Yamanote-sen will be released on March 18, 2021. It was released first on the PlayStation 4 on December 3, 2020.
