Dame Lesley Lawson – known professionally as Twiggy - doesn't need an introduction.
Discovered as a 16-year-old schoolgirl, the British fashion icon turned successful actor-singer-designer remains a source of inspiration for women of all ages today.
After popularising the bold and glamorous Mod make-up look of the 1960s, she is now one of the faces of Charlotte Tilbury's 2022 Holiday campaign at the age of 73.
Teaming up with the brand for the second time this year, she joins a star-studded lineup of ambassadors including Kate Moss, Lily James and Jourdan Dunn.
The campaign is all about bringing back the joyous escapism of the disco era and Twiggy praises Charlotte Tilbury's glamorous looks for lifting her mood with a little sparkle.
To celebrate the launch of the campaign, Red spoke to Twiggy about her collaboration with Charlotte Tilbury, her favourite festive make-up looks and the mascara she uses to re-create her iconic eye-lashes. With Twiggy, it's always been all about the eyes.
Tell us more about the inspiration behind the new Charlotte Tilbury’s holiday campaign?
The Holiday campaign was inspired by the magic and euphoria of Studio 54, and it feels like the perfect time to revisit the escapism of that amazing disco era.
People enjoy the fun, freedom, and dancing just as much now as we did back then. There’s nothing quite like the power of sparkle and a little glamour to put a smile on your face.
Do you have any favourite makeup looks for the festive season? And how to re-create them?
I’m all about the eyes! I love the smokey eye look that Charlotte created on me for the Holiday campaign - using the Pillow Talk Luxury Palette and the Rock Chick Luxury Palette.
And I always like to dial up my usual makeup routine with some sparkle on my cheekbones using Charlotte’s Pillow Talk Beautifying Face Palette.
I’ll add a little extra highlight above my eyes too, below the brow bone to give an eye lift effect. It was so much fun to create those Studio 54 inspired looks for the campaign, you can’t have too much sparkle for the party season.

What are you three makeup bags must-haves?
At this time of year, I’ll be keeping my Pillow Talk Beautifying Palette in my make up bag - it’s perfect for dialling up my look from day to night - and I usually pair it with Charlotte’s Matte Revolution Lipstick in the same Pillow Talk shade.
I also love to add a lip gloss on top of my lipstick, when I want to dial up my look for the evening – such as Charlotte’s Collagen Lip Bath.

What’s your top makeup hack when you’re in the rush?
It’s not a hack as such – but even when I’m in a rush - I always make sure I have a slick of Pillow Talk Push Up Lashes. Mascara, for that look of wide-awake eyes. It gives you vertical lift effect and instant confidence, so I’m ready for the day.

What is the best beauty advice you were given?
Charlotte is the most incredible makeup artist and she has shared so many amazing tips and tricks with me over the years.
