Golden Gate Bridge In San Francisco

Bridge Pavilion
Dedicated to the history of the Golden Gate Bridge, the Pavilion features historic exhibits, memorabilia, commemorative and interpretive merchandise, and scenic overlooks. Shop for souvenirs and check out the original 12-foot steel Bridge "test tower" used in 1933. You can also learn about the Bridge's science and engineering through hands-on exhibits just outside the Pavilion. Swing by the Bridge Café for delicious food and sublime views.
Hiking & Biking Trails
Cycle or hike across the Golden Gate Bridge to picturesque trails and vista points throughout Golden Gate National Park. Explore miles of hiking and biking trails in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, including Crissy Field, Fort Point, and the Presidio. Cross the bridge to Marin Headlands, Muir Woods and Beach and the Coastal Trail. Take the awesome biking and walking trail from Crissy Field/Fort Point and up a short climb to the south parking lot of the bridge. FAQs

Is there a toll to drive across the bridge?
Yes. The Golden Gate Bridge collects a toll in the southbound direction into San Francisco. The toll is $6 for cars and motorcycles and $5 for the FasTrak Toll. Carpool vehicles pay a $3 toll from 5 -9 am and 4 - 6 pm on weekdays. To use the FasTrak electronic toll system, purchase a tag at www.bayareafastrak.org. -
Is it free to walk and drive across the bridge?
Yes! The Golden Gate Bridge is one of the most beautiful walks and bike rides on the planet. Enjoy the thrill of biking across the bridge, or a relaxing half-hour walk that lets you feel the dramatic atmosphere and take in views of downtown and San Francisco Bay. Cyclists can ride free on the East and West sidewalks 24 hours a day. Pedestrians can walk free on the East Sidewalk facing San Francisco from 5 am to 6:30 pm.
