The coffee-loving sleuth is heading to everyone’s favorite mobile monster catcher, and you can grab one soon.
Niantic has announced that the Pokémon Go Detective Pikachu event launches at 10:00 local time on Thursday, October 5, 2023, then ends at 20:00 local time on Monday, October 9, 2023. Over this weekend you can find a special Pikachu wearing a detective hat, and if you’re lucky, you can also find a shiny version of the special Pikachu as well. Plus, evolve it to earn yourself a Raichu (one of the best electric Pokémon) in a detective hat.
Alongside the event are timed-research tasks and event-themed field research tasks which earn you encounters with Sudowoodo, Snivy (shiny is available), or Rowlet. If you want to earn a few more encounters, snap a picture with your buddy or take snapshots of wild Pokémon, and Detective Pikachu themselves just might photobomb you! Make sure you get out exploring, as the Pokémon Go Detective Pikachu event also rewards you with double XP for spinning Pokéstops while the event lasts.
