Born to Charles Clifford Taylor and Lovella Gilbert Taylor on August 30, 1908 in Arcanum, Ohio, she began flower arranging at the age of eight. She was educated at William Woods College and was married to Walter E. Morris of St. Louis. Missouri, co-owner of Keeler-Morris Printing Company of St.

Louis. She was a leading teacher and practitioner of the art of Ikebana in the St. Louis area and founded the third chapter of Ikebana International in St. Louis in 1958. She studied Ikebana in Japan, with at least five visits to study in the Ikenobo School in Kyoto, Japan.

She was president of the Ikenobo Society of St Louis. She judged and taught Ikebana internationally, including Australia, New Zealand, and Jamaica, where she started a flower arranging school for the National Council of Garden Clubs She taught Ikebana at the Missouri Botanical Garden for ten years, and was an active contributor to the development of the Japanese Garden and the annual Japanese Festival of the Missouri Botanical Garden. She was a member and Judge for the National Council of State Garden Clubs, and was an active member of the East Central District of Missouri Garden Clubs.
