2017 Division 3 girls track state champions and all-state awards

Hundreds of athletes gathered for the Division 3 girls track state finals in Comstock Park on Saturday, and from the starting gun, the competition was as hot as the weather.

Adrian Madison wins title

Megan Rosales led Adrian Madison to a convincing win, finishing first in the 400 (57.02), 300 hurdles (45.05) and leading the 800 relay and 1,600 relay to wins (1:44.11, 3:57.80).

Kiarah Horn took third in the Pole Vault (11-feet-0), while Anne Wong also medaled (10-feet). Kaiya Wall tied for 2nd in the high  jump (5-02), while Chelsea Short medaled in the 200 (26.10)

Shepherd breaks D3 record

As the two-time defending state champion in the 3,200-meter relay, Shepherd had established a standard of success heading into the Division 3 state meet at Comstock Park High School.

On Saturday, the Bluejays runners raised the bar by not only capturing their third consecutive title in the two-mile relay, they also broke the previous Division 3 record by more than four seconds.

Shepherd's Katelyn HutchinsonRachel MathersKylie Hutchinson and Amber Gall combined to run a 9:18.06, breaking Benzie Central's 2011 Division 3 record of 9:22.71.

Gall also won the 800 race (2:14.81).
