Kate Moss lookalike Denise Ohnona revealed she didn't know who the iconic supermodel was before she started modelling.

The 43-year-old survived a horrific car collision when she was 18 years old and suffered from the effects of surplus collagen production and thick scars across her face as the doctor who operated on her wasn't trained in plastic surgery. "It took me a long long time to get over that as well as the physical scars, I was mentally traumatised and it did hold me back for many years," she recently said.

She lost a lot of weight and had stomach ulcers after having a "mental breakdown". Later on in life, she moved to Orange County, America, and worked in telecoms. The model had a difficult time and gained weight after becoming depressed but when she got fit again, people started telling her she looked like supermodel Kate Moss.

Denise only started modelling six years ago, even recently rocking the runway at the Marine Serre Womenswear Fall/Winter 2024-25 show, but never thought she looked like Kate.

"I think from the age of 14 was when I was first told I looked like Kate, but I didn't really think much of it because I didn't know who Kate Moss was at the time," she explained. "We didn't have Google. It wasn't until later on I found out who she was and when I first saw her I was like 'oh my gosh she's gorgeous I am nothing like Kate'.

"I never considered myself beautiful or a model or anything like that." The lookalike previously opened up about her horror car collision which saw the car she was in get by a bus. The impact of the collision forced her across the passenger seats, with her hitting the steering wheel.

She told the Liverpool Echo: "When I first looked in the mirror at my reflection in the hospital and saw my face I screamed. I started to cry as soon as I saw it." The model was working as a retail assistant at the time and was offered a modelling contract days before the crash. She said in 2019: "I'd been in Liverpool during the day, but I decided to stay over which is something I never normally would do.

"My boyfriend at the time picked me up and the city was just like a ghost town, it felt like something was going to happen. We’d been in the car for about 30 seconds and then a double-decker bus crashed into us." Denise continued: "My head was pouring with blood, I was screaming. It was completely split in every way - my cheek was pretty much hanging off."
