On Monday, June 12, 2023, Silvio Berlusconi died at the age of 86. The former Italian prime minister had been admitted to Milan's San Raffaele hospital since last Friday after a series of scheduled check-ups due to his chronic leukaemia.

The Italian tycoon's condition had worsened in recent months and several members of his family have been attending the hospital.

That's according to AdnKronos news agency, although it is not known if Silvio Berlusconi's girlfriend Marta Fascina, who is 53 years younger than the billionaire, was among the visitors.

Who is Marta Fascina?

Berlusconi and Fascina began their relationship in 2020, after images of their romance leaked while the Italian tycoon was married to Francesca Pascale.

After the scandal, Berlusconi and Fascina began their bond and built a solid relationship, so much so that last March 19, 2022 they celebrated a "party of love" rather than a marriage.

Without legal value, the two joined their lives together despite the refusal of Berlusconi's children.

How did Marta Fascina and Silvio Berlusconi meet?

Marta Antonia Fascina is a member of the Italian Chamber of Deputies and belongs to the Forza Italia party, the same party created and led by Silvio Berlusconi since 2013.

Born in Calabria in 1990, she grew up in Naples and studied literature and philosophy at the University of Rome.

After leaving university, she worked as an editor at Il Giornale until 2018, when she made the leap to politics in Berlusconi's party.

The two also met through a mutual friend, former AC Milan CEO Adriano Galliani.

Berlusconi was, famously, the AC Milan president and owner, as well as Italy's prime minister.

In 31 years of owning AC Milan, they won 29 trophies, a story that began with the first league championship in the 1987/88 season and ended with the 2016 Italian Supercoppa.

Along the way, they won eight Scudetti (1987/88, 1991/92, 1992/93, 1993/94, 1995/96, 1998/99, 2003/04, 2010/11), one Coppa Italia (2002/03), seven Italian Supercoppa (1988, 1992, 1993, 1994, 2004, 2011, 2016), five European Cups (1988/89, 1989/90, 1993/94, 2002/03, 2006/07), five UEFA Super Cups (1989, 1990, 1994, 2003, 2007), two Intercontinental Cups (1989, 1990) and one Club World Cup (2007).
