Hiking Highlight
Location: Veytaux, Riviera-Pays-d’Enhaut, Lake Geneva Region, Switzerland
From Montreux, a cogwheel railway leads to the mountain, which is operated by the Transports Montreux-Vevey-Riviera. At the mountain station there is a hotel and a restaurant as well as an enclosure for marmots. From the summit, which can be reached all year round, you have a view of Lake Geneva and the mountain ranges of Jura, the Bernese, Friborg, the Valais and the Savoy Alps. To the east, a mountain trail leads to the Alpinum La Rambertia and the Cave Grotte de Naye.

Unfortunately, this day was too cloudy. Years ago I have been there already and you enjoy a wonderful view.

The Grotto can be slippery either with snow or mud, so it can be useful to hike around the outside to the bottom, which is often blocked by snow & then climb upwards if all clear. Take a good headlamp & old/warm clothes.
