ATLANTA (KLTV) - Former Brook Hill Guard AJ Minter picked up his fourth win of the season in relief as Atlanta took an extra-inning win over Miami, 4-3.

The lefty entered the game in the 10th inning with the score tied at 3 and Nick Gordon as an inherited runner at second base. Minter got Emmanuel Rivera to ground out as Gordon advanced to third base. Christian Bethancourt then grounded sharply to a drawn-in third base and third baseman Austin Riley fielded the ball and from his knees threw Gordon out at home. With Bethancourt now on first base with two outs, Luis Arreaz hit a single, advancing Bethancourt to third base. Minter then walked Bryan De La Cruz to load the bases before striking out Jazz Chishold Jr. to end the inning.

The Braves scored in the bottom of the 10th to end the game and give Minter the win.

Minter threw 14 pitches (eight strikes). He dropped his ERA to 1.50.

Atlanta is in first place in the AL East with a 17-6 record. The Braves host the Cleveland Guardians on Friday at 6:20 p.m.
