Rumex alpinus, common name monk's rhubarb, Munk's rhubarb, romice or Alpine dock is a perennial plant. Can reach a height of 60 to 200 centimetres, with leaves very large. The flowers are arranged in much-branched, the fruits are brown, three-sided achenes. The flowers bloom from June to August. This species prefers high-altitude environments rich in nitrates, is commonly found near mountain pastures, uncultivated places between about 1200 and 2300 m (3,900 to 7,900 ft) above sea level
