Types of bicornuate uterus

A bicornuate uterus is a Müllerian duct anomaly that is due to an incomplete fusion of the Müllerian ducts during embryo development. It results in a heart-shaped uterus with two horns.

There are two types of bicornuate uterus depending on how deep the dip on top part is:

  • Partial bicornuate uterus
  • Complete bicornuate uterus
