WWE: Gunther closes in on Honky Tonk Man's record

Gunther's reign as Intercontinental Champion continues to grow and now he has broken Pedro Morales' record.

Gunther began his reign by defeating Ricochet on the June 10, 2022 episode of SmackDown.

Since then, the Austrian has defeated some of the biggest names along his way.

Gunther has been able to defeat the likes of Rey Mysterio, Drew McIntyre, Sheamus among others.

His last title defence was against McIntyre at SummerSlam and will now face Chad Gable next.

Gunther has now surpassed Morales' record of 424 days and his reign is now second on the list.

Gunther has now set his eyes on Honky Tonk Man's record of 454 days as the IC Champion
