Poor, marginalized favela residents were some of the most hard struck populations in Brazil during the COVID-19 pandemic, not only in terms of infections and deaths but also economically. Join the Department of Global Health and Population and the David Rockefeller Center for Latin American Studies (DRCLAS) at Harvard University to learn about how G10 das Favelas, a Brazilian NGO inspired by the Group of Seven (G7), implemented emergency measures to support favela residents throughout the pandemic. This will be a unique opportunity to engage directly with G10 leaders to learn about their experiences, strategies, accomplishments, and challenges with public health before, during, and after the pandemic.
