Auburn - Gilberte A. Letourneau, 93, of Auburn, passed away on Thursday, June 18 at Clover Manor. She was born in Courcelles, Quebec Canada on February 17, 1922, a daughter of the late Raoul Edmond and Virginia (Messier) Arsenault. She married Louis Letourneau in 1941 in Valleyfield Quebec. They were happily married for 48 years raising a family of four children until he passed away in 1989. Gilberte was a member of Ss Peter and Paul Basilica, Prince of Peace Parish. She worked as a French teacher at St. Peter's School and then as a CNA in the Maternity Ward at Central Maine Medical Center. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting and was a member of The Red Hat Society. Her family was her true love and joy in life and they will all miss her special "Peanut Butter Fudge". Gilberte is survived by four children: Lise Lemm and husband Joe of Poland, Jocelyne Morrissette and husband Marcel of Harrison, Michel Letourneau of Winthrop, David Letourneau and wife Gail of Readfield, eleven grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandson and her sister Carmen (Roy) Dufresne of Ontario, Canada. Visitation will be held at Fortin Group Funeral Home in Lewiston on Saturday July 27 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM. Funeral Services will follow at The Basilica of Ss Peter and Paul (Upper Church) at 1:00 PM on Saturday. Burial will be held at a later date at Gracelawn Memorial Park in Auburn.
