X-Men star Famke Janssen and Stranger Things' Brett Gelman are joining forces with Bill Skarsgård for an action-thriller known as Boy Kills World.

Sam Raimi, director on Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, is producing, while Moritz Mohr makes his feature-length directorial debut (via Deadline).

Sharlto Copley of District 9 fame is also new to the cast, as well as Quinn Copeland from Peacock's Punky Brewster revival, and twins Cameron and Nicholas Crovetti (Big Little Lies).

This dystopian spectacle follows Boy (played by It actor Skarsgård). Boy is deaf and mute, and exiles himself into the jungle when his family is murdered.

Here, he's trained by a shaman, (played by The Raid's Yayan Ruhian) in order to suppress his imagination and transform himself into someone motivated by death and destruction.

Janssen plays Hilda Van der Koy, the matriarch of a villainous family, while Gelman portrays Gideon. Copley will play another family member named Glen.

Meanwhile, Copeland has been cast as a character named Mina, and the Crovettis will play a younger version of Boy.

Meanwhile, Hammerstone Studios' very own Alex Lebovici had this to say about the project: "Boy Kills World is rich with unique and exciting characters.

"The cast we've assembled is a tremendous line-up of talent who are perfect for the roles they have taken on. We look forward to collaborating with them and bringing this story to life."

Boy Kills World isn't the only tantalising title on Copley's horizon either – he is also appearing in season 2 of Netflix phenomenon Russian Doll very soon.

Bringing back Natasha Lyonne's time-loop prisoner Nadia Vulvokov, the new episodes will begin streaming from Wednesday, April 20.

Expect Boy Kills World to hit cinemas sometime next year.
