Famke Janssen starring as 'brittle, damaged mother-in-law' in Netflix film Locked In: 'I play these characters who are so different from me!'

Former Bond Girl Famke Janssen is currently hard at work on the London set of Netflix contemporary psychological thriller Locked In.

The Dutch 58-year-old is playing a 'brittle, damaged mother' called Katherine, who doesn't get along with her new unhappy daughter-in-law Lina - according to Deadline.

Sandition starlet Rose Williams plays Lina, who embarks on an 'affair that sets her onto a journey of secrecy, betrayal and murder - and a plot to seemingly destroy her.'

Locked In is the second feature film helmed by director Nour Wazzi (Murder Manual), and the script was written by Rowan Joffé (Tin Star).

On October 28, the Lebanese filmmaker wrote on Instagram that filming should run through the end of January on the project, which features a predominantly female and diverse crew.

Locked In will also feature Violent Night's Alex Hassell, Monarch's Anna Friel, and Animal Kingdom's Finn Cole.

'I feel incredibly misunderstood at times,' Janssen lamented to The Independent in September of her typecasting.

'It's the dichotomy between the way I look and what is happening inside. But that comes with being in a Bond movie and playing this crazy assassin. All of my friends and family know that I'm goofy, and sensitive, and that I play these characters who are so different from that; other people probably think I'm just playing myself.'
