“The Office” babe Jenna Fischer tells Playboy she does less work than most to keep her buttoned-up character Pam Beasley “authentic.”
In fact, Jenna reports she takes a pass on many Hollywood must-do’s like spray tanning and teeth whitening to give Jim Halpert’s inamorata that down-to-earth look that her Office love adores.
“To keep Pam authentic, I’ve held back from doing some things,” Fischer explains. “I haven’t had my teeth whitened. I haven’t gotten porcelain veneers. And you’ll notice other things if you look carefully.”
Like the spray tan?
“I need to keep it real so Pam can always look like a believable girl, not suddenly all plasticky like a movie star.”
But just because Fischer’s Pam won’t go glam doesn’t mean the actress can’t. The 34-year-old star confessed she was “so tickled” when she was voted one of People magazine’s 100 Most Beautiful Celebrities in 2006.
“Now I think I’m going to put it in my movie contract that they have to call me ‘37th Most Beautiful Person 2006, Emmy-losing actress Jenna Fischer,” she jokes, making a crack out of losing to trashtastic “My Name is Earl” star Jaime Pressly last year.
The 34-year-old actress also reveals that when she was in her 20s she almost let a boyfriend convince her to submit nude portraits of herself to a lad mag!
“We never did, but he was really into the idea. I didn’t date him for long,” she laughs. “I am not into a man who wants to share his woman with the world. I find that to be an unattractive quality.”
Playboy magazine’s April issue is on newsstands now.
