Caraway is a two-year-old medicinal plant with the origin of Europe and one of the oldest aromatic and medicinal plants that has been known to the Egyptians and Arabs for 5,000 years. Today the plant is also used as a medicinal plant in modern phytotherapy. The plant forms elongated pinnate leaves and, in addition to the valuable ingredients, has a pronounced characteristic taste. The fresh leaves, the carrot-like roots are used as boiled vegetables and the seeds as the typical spice from which an oil can also be made. Due to the digestive, antispasmodic and antimicrobial effects, caraway is often used as tea or oil and is also suitable as a mouthwash.

General
We recommend no-till sown in rows for caraway seeds.
Cumin plants prefer a sunny to partially shaded location with a moist, deep, nutritious humose and slightly loamy soil. Avoid waterlogging.

Additional tips
In order to quickly obtain a fine, crumbly and well-drained soil, an additional incorporation of biochar and primeval rock flour is recommended.
