The Lion's Monument was carved out of a stone wall above a glacial pool.  The dying lion commemorates the lost lives of Swiss Guardsmen who died during the French Revolution that took place in 1792.  While usually filled with tourists, there are a few benches and grassy spots that are incredible for taking a break.

We decided not to partake of the nearby Glacier Garden and Mirror Labyrinth due to our reluctance to take part of purely tourist attractions, but many people have stated that they have enjoyed these attractions.  Make your own choice and enjoy whatever you choose.
