The Homicidal, Genocidal, Suicidal, Death-Defying Maniac Sabu was a hardcore icon in Philidelphia based company Extreme Championship Wrestling ECW. In ECW Sabu enjoyed huge success both as a Tag Team competitor with Rob Van Dam and as a singles competitor competing in such infamous matches as the Barbed Wire match against Terry Funk in which Sabu tore his bicep off the bone and taped it back on to carry on with the match.

Trained by his uncle the Original Sheik, Sabu fused his Hardcore and High-Flying style to huge succes, becoming a mainstay in ECW and TNA.

When WWE brought back ECW Sabu was first on the list to hire. Having previously competed at the One Night Stand series of PPVs, Sabu was well like by Vince McMahon for his "wildman" attitude. Sabu and RVD again enjoyed success in the bigger bingo halls the new ECW had to offer. Sabu earnt a title shot a Summerslam against the then champion Big Show, however he was defeated by the giant.

Sabu would continue to wrestle in the new ECW but things went sour when he was caught in possession of illegal substances by the police in a road stop. Rob Van Dam was also caught and was therefore pushed down the card and suspended. Sabu however did not recieve as harsh of a punishment, but missed the ECW December to Dismemeber PPV.

Eventually Sabu was released from his contract and has gone on to wrestle on the independant scene. However it has been brought to attention Sabu's need for surgery and that his wrestling days may be over. Will we ever see the Homicidal, Genocidal, Suicidal, Death-Defying Maniac in a WWE ring again? Unlikely, but will we ever forget him? no way.

Sabu's appearance in the game came as a shock to many as Rob Van Dam did not make the cut. Many believed that RVD had a better chance of making it into the game than Sabu did. Never the less, Sabu was put into the game under the moniker "ECW Legends".

Sabu has a default fighting styles of Hardcore and High-Flying. This means Sabu can interact with both the ringropes and turnbuckles to do deadly ariel moves and weapons found throughout the ring. This style means that Sabu is as comfortable flying through the air as he is throwing other people through flaming tables. Due to Sabu's style there are many ways for a player to aproach the superstar. His fighting technique is one shared with Jeff Hardy who shares the same fighting styles, therefore the two men make great tag team partners and can put on entertaining matches against each other. Sabu can be played in many different ways and favours matches with weapons invloed due to his high hardcore rating which makes weapon shots especially dangerous. Sabu favours matches such as, Extreme Rules, Hardcore, Ladder, TLC, Money In The Bank as opposed to singles matches.
