Case Discussion

The anatomopathological examination revealed rhabdomyosarcoma of the epididymis.

Paratesticular rhabdomyosarcoma is a rare aggressive tumour manifesting in children and very young adults. Rhabdomyosarcoma is the most common malignant tumour of the lower genitourinary tract in children in the first two decades.

The oncologic staging (not shown here) showed localised disease. Because of the highly aggressive nature of this tumour, early diagnosis is important, as patients with disease localised to scrotum have a good prognosis.
