Starry Campion's attractive flowers have white, fringed petals that form a star shape and are pollinated by moths and bumblebees. Dark green leaves appear in whorls of four. When in flower, it is hard to mistake this plant for anything else. As milkweeds are a host plant for monarch butterfly caterpillars, starry campion similarly serves as a food source for some moth species.
