Neurofibromatosis

Neurofibromatosis

Neurofibromatosis (NF): a genetic disorder that causes tumors to form on nerve tissue. These tumors can develop anywhere in your nervous system, including your brain, spinal cord and peripheral nerves. Every person affected by NF1 or NF2 has a 50% chance of passing the condition on to their offspring, but the majority of cases appear to occur by chance.
