Lucio Fontana was a challenging artists whose work brought together several strands of Modern Art, whilst interrogating the contemporary modalities at his disposal. Although he worked in many media during a career that spanned two world wars, he’s best known for the ground-breaking, canvas-slashing, Spatial Concept series, which he began in 1949.
