"There is only one thing in life worse than being talked about, and that is not being talked about." -Oscar Wilde
It is amazing to see the words of Oscar live at this place. I have been coming here for years and bringing people to this place non stop. From the creative drinks to the top tier food. I have never been disappointed coming here.
The decorations are seasonal and my god it's always beautiful and looks like a price of art. I appreciate the kindness of the staff even when it's busy they are warm, accommodating, and have good vibes.
Oscar! I'll see you again and see what the summer holds. Also, music is fire, drinks are superb, and I promise you'll have a good time.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Apr 22, 20241 check-in
The night started out all right. Given the night was a chilly evening, I wasn't expecting that sitting by the door would be an issue. Unfortunately that wasn't the case. When I eventually spoke up, the girl by the front door scolded me of not informing her that I don't like the cold!
However the manager on shift tried to make it up and it helped a bit. He provided us with complementary desserts. It was very appreciated but a bit too lateHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kimberly W.Boston, MA22325Mar 9, 2024
The bar area was decorated quite festive due to Chinese new year and it was very loud. We were seated in the back dining area decorated with the hearts and teddy bears that was much quieter.
For a starter we tried the truffle arancini, well presented and quite good. We both ordered the Wilde Burger (which was touted as one of the top 10 in nyc) along with a side of truffle fries to share. The burgers were cooked perfectly and quite tasty but not sure I'd give it a top 10 but haven't tried all the others in the list.
It's definitely a must see spot in the flatiron area and I would probably go back if in the area again.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Lisa A.Jamaica, NY2220546May 1, 20243 check-ins
Have been to this bar repeatedly. They always have such a great vibe. The decor is always so much fun!! The drinks...an art of work. They always look interesting & taste amazing!
Bartenders outfits always coincide with the fun decor. Darko was our bartender and gave a great recommendation of the Romance & Lots of Lychee!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mar 6, 20241 check-in
A friend asked me to meet here real quick for an exchange. I was very pleasantly surprised with the look and atmosphere. It was fully dress with CNY decorations it definitely brought a smile to me. This is a larger space full of seating and a huge bar.
My really loves wine so the selection was vast but according to my friend it was ok. We got the Caymus(red) and I enjoyed it. A bit pricey per glass but still nice. We ordered the steam pork buns and fries since we were pressed for time. A+ on those pork buns I will be back for those alone.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Feb 26, 2024
Been here for drinks before but this was the first time for food and wow! Fresh pasta, tuna stack, fries, everything was delicious. And our server was so nice and got our order in right under the wire for the dinner menu. Much appreciated after a long day of traveling.
The drink menu is extensive, organized nicely by alcohol and are delivered with delightful flair. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu.
Not for the faint of heart, this place is boisterous and over the top. A real adventureHelpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Apr 8, 20241 check-in
The vibe is hyper-Victorian on a normal day at Oscar Wilde. The decor during lunar new year is over the top grand fabulousness!!! I've never seen so many lanterns in one space, and likely never will again, until I go back for LNY next year! It's whimsical AF. I just love looking around!! I also had a reservation there for St Patty's Day, and 100% expected great decorations since Oscar Wilde was Irish, and the menu here includes some Irish staples (lamb shepherds pie, and the like). Anyway, there were like zero decorations for St Pats?! No Irish music or anything. I was shocked! Anyway, I love the experience of going here more than I like the food. Go for a few drinks and take some pics.

Used to walk by this place all the time when I lived and worked in midtown but never was able to pop in before the pandemic, but so glad I finally came here and got a drink at the bar! Definitely a busy, busy place, but the decor is so incredible. Came the week of Chinese New Year and they did it UP. I was so impressed with not only the delicious special offerings and cocktails, but decoration game was a stand out. I enjoyed my Siouxsie Sioux quite a bit, and it was so pretty! Didn't stay long but my partner was a bit peckish and the pork bao buns were very good. Great spring on that bao bread and the roast on that pork was special. The seasoning and sauce really was something to note and I would get two orders of those next time.
Great place - definitely a fun after work drinks place, but do get there a bit on the early side!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jan 24, 2024

This place was packed on a Tuesday night, not a free seat to be found. Fortunately we had a reservation. Loved the ambiance , so much to look at! We had to wave down our waitress to get extra water and to get the check. The food overall was good but nothing overly memorable. Everyone agreed it lacked strong flavor - needed additional seasoning.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jan 28, 2024
I was in town for a work trip and realized that Oscar Wilde was super close to my hotel so decided to make a visit to check out the Christmas decorations! I was lucky I was able to make same day reservations for 2 on a weeknight, but for weekends, I would definitely book well in advance!
Inside, the decor is INSANE! It definitely lives up to the hype and photographs super well. It was a little overwhelming and not too much space to stand and wait but I appreciated that the staff was super efficient with seating. We had to wait about 20 min to get seated in spite of reservations, but that was ok and the staff was really nice, and we took the time to look around while we waited. There is walk-ins available at the bar, but that seemed super hard to come by.
We ordered a few drinks and I had the Lost in Love. It was pretty good and so pretty!! We also got a Pizookie which was basically a skillet cookie served a la mode and that was PHENOMENAL!! So rich and chocolatey. Overall, really nice vibes once you're seated and definitely a spot to check out!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
