Abstract

Twin reversed arterial perfusion (TRAP) sequence is an unusual anomaly that only occurs in monochorionic multiple pregnancies. If one twin dies in the early embryonic period, its body may continue to grow, thanks to a reversed perfusion through an artery-to-artery anastomosis by its surviving co-twin. This parasitism puts the healthy survivor at risk of high-output cardiac and demise. In this chapter, we provide up-to-date information on the pathophysiology, diagnosis, and management of this rare anomaly.
