Description
BEARDTONGUE
This upright native perennial thrives in full sun in average to dry soil situations. Basal rosettes of glossy often reddish foliage give rise to showy flowering stems in late spring to summer. The blooms attract butterflies and native pollinators. The leaves host butterfly larva like the Common Buckeye and seeds are eaten by birds in winter.
