Flying Fries is a studio founded in 2023; currently, two people are working on the projects. Their newest rendition for MSFS, Hughes XF-11, is about to be released on February 9th, which has been announced by the Flightsim.to website.
Story Of The Hughes XF-11
The Hughes XF-11 was a prototype aircraft designated by Howard Hughes in 1946. The aircraft was powered by two Pratt & Whitney R-4360-31 piston engines called “Wasp Major.” Its range with max load was over 4000 nautical miles, which is around a distance from Dallas to London. The XF-11 had an impressive ceiling altitude of 44,000 feet and developed a speed of 300 knots. Unfortunately, Howard Hughes’ project failed as the first prototype crashed during its first flight, without any casualties, and the second prototype was in the United States Air Force service for just two years.
About The Add-On
The aircraft’s model is created with highly detailed 4k textures. Engines, landing gear, and two cockpit decks are fully modeled. Era-correct autopilot bringing more immersion to the ’40s plane. The developer created many complex systems, such as a fuel system with ten pumps and seven tanks or an electrical system with working circuit breakers. Custom failures, as well as aircraft configuration and refueling options, are accessible by a clipboard in the cockpit.
For those who prefer modernity, the Garmin GNS 530 panel can be turned on, and the Garmin GTN 750 by PMS50 if installed. Flying Fries created many custom features such as interior lighting, sounds, or visual effects, including duel leaks and engine startup smoke. The package will come with seven different liveries included.
The price has not been announced officially yet; however, the Flightsim.to product meta description suggests that, most likely, it’s going to be USD 27.00.
