It happened on Oct 9 in China. iPhone 8, a new explosive device after Samsung S7? Time will tell.

Here is the original link for the news (from a Chinese Apple fan website):

BGR reports there are seven battery swelling incidents from Japan, Taiwan, China, Canada, Greece, and Hong Kong ~

Only used for two days based on the news. I don't think there was any modification.

After iPhone 8 exploded and produced a lot of smoke, the owner pour the water on it. Good thing she killed the power source before she did it.

Yeah okay. Newbie, first post and only photos. Not suspicious.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Wth?! Did they modify it or anything? I'm thinking there were pressures within to cause this. Now apple can't make fun of note 7.

Looks fine to me! That is FAST CHARGING for sure!

Just kidding. This make like 3 iPhones now that had a battery problem.

We do not know if the battery was damaged by accident or deliberately to cause this. There are many who would do anything to hurt Apple's reputation. Could have been a Samsung employee.

I cannot verify it as well. But I can understand what they say.

Both you and I cannot verify any news unless we are reporters.

Regardless, there are a lot of unanswered questions about this device. We don't know all the variables or even know what caused this phone to explode in the first place. Until Apple verifies anything, we can all speculate.

What's there to be suspicious of? Are you legally blind?? Because I clearly see an iPhone 8 with a glass back that has exploded. Some people and their distortion of reality! My god!
How in the world do you know someone didn't put a blowtorch to the device? People put them in blenders to test their toughness. There is ZERO evidence the battery blew up. So before you start rattling around insults, why don't you ask the obvious question, "could this be fake?"

All these reports are coming from China, it's probably a local problem, with a few units. Nothing to worry here, unless we start seeing lots of reports coming from multiple countries.

I believe all incidents are from Asian regions, e.g., Japan, Hongkong, Taiwan, and China. Any other regions?

Maybe they have different internal specs from other regions?

So you accept anything you can see? LOL!

Some do not know what reality is, sometimes it is more than meets the eye!

I'm going to stop using my 8+ now

It is not the 8+ only the 8.
