This Mazda NA MX-5 Miata got away, but there are more like it here.
This 1997 Mazda MX-5 Miata has remained registered in California through the seller’s acquisition in 2016 and now shows just under 23k miles. Finished in Montego Blue Mica over black cloth upholstery, the car is powered by a 1.8-liter DOHC inline-four linked with a five-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes a black convertible soft top, 14″ alloy wheels, pop-up headlights, four-wheel disc brakes, an aftermarket antenna, manually adjustable bucket seats, a cassette stereo, power windows, a K&N air filter, an aftermarket center console, a boot cover, and air conditioning. This NA Miata is now offered at no reserve with repair manuals, service records, spare keys, a clean Carfax report, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.
The car is finished in Montego Blue Mica and features a black soft top. Additional exterior details include pop-up headlights, chrome door handles, an aftermarket antenna, painted mirror caps, a convertible top boot, and a single exhaust outlet. Multiple dings and blemishes on the body are noted by the seller.
The 14″ alloy wheels are mounted with 195/60 General Altimax RT43 tires showing 2016 date codes. The car is equipped with variable-assist power steering, an independent double wishbone suspension, front and rear stabilizer bars, and four-wheel disc brakes. Curb damage is located on the right-front wheel. A replacement secondary hydraulic clutch cylinder was installed in October 2020.
The manually adjustable bucket seats are upholstered in black cloth and are complemented by a color-coordinated dash, carpets, and door panels. Miata-branded floor mats line the footwells, and interior amenities include an AM/FM/cassette stereo, air conditioning, an aftermarket center console with cupholders, and power windows. The driver’s seat outer bolster is worn.
The four-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 140-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows just under 23k miles, approximately 4k of which were added under current ownership.
The 1.8-liter DOHC inline-four is equipped with a K&N air filter and was factory rated at 133 horsepower and 114 lb-ft of torque. The battery was replaced in June 2020 and the car passed an emissions inspection in July 2022.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission. Additional photos of the underside are provided in the gallery.
The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists history in California through the most recent entry in July 2022. Multiple gaps between entries are present in the report.
