KK Kumanovo still unbeaten at home after handing first defeat to BC Galil Gilboa

KK Kumanovo 2009 (Kumanovo, MKD) is still unbeaten at home in group A of EUROHOLD Balkan League. After handing first loss to Levski a few weeks ago now the newcomer to the competiton defeated BC Galil Gilboa (Gan Ner, ISR) 74-64. This means that the team from Kumanovo now has defeated both finalists in the competition from last season and is one step closer to the top 6. In the same time BC Galil Gilboa was handed its first loss this season and in two days time will meet BC Levski in Sofia. Next game for Kumanovo is next week on 13th of December also in Sofia.
After an even first quarter that was Kumanovo leading by a few points, the hosts played very well in the second and pull away. They scored the first 5 points in it to take a double digit advantage and later managed to build on it. In the final minutes of the first half Kumanovo increased its lead to 16 points and at the break led 44-29.
However the visitors didn′t give up and made a comeback effort in the third quarter and it succeeded. Before the middle of it Kumanovo was leading by 11 points but 8-0 run for Galil Gilboa cut the team′s deficit to just 3. Until the end of the quarter the teams exchanged basket and with Dagan Yivtzori′s three pointer the scored was tied at 54 before the last ten minutes.
They started very good for the home team and with a 10-2 run Kumanovo went up by 8 points. In the middle of the last quarter Aleksandar Kostoski scored a triple to make it 67-58. From then on the hosts had control of the game and won for the joy of the full gym in Kumanovo.
Once again Uros Lukovic had double double for the winners finishing with 19 points and 12 rebounds. Marjan Janeski had 15 points while Aleksandar Kostoski added 14.
For the visitors Mitchel Watt scored 18 points and Dagan Yivzori had 14.
