Daphetid

Daphetid is a small hamlet overlooking Taylor Lake on the standard gauge

branch line that runs north from Gorre. Industries include Central Mine and

the Teaby Fire Extinguisher Co.

Ironically, fire was featured more than once on the Gorre & Daphetid. A

forest fire devastated the logging industry near Nika. A "smoke machine,"

for a time, produced smoke from the ash pit at Great Divide. More than one

building on the Gorre & Daphetid suffered destruction by fire. At different

times one was located under the viaduct at Port, on a corner of Railroad

Avenue, and opposite Austin Street Station. Another, the Teaby Fire

Extinguisher Co., was located on the third Gorre & Daphetid in Daphetid.

On the second Gorre & Daphetid the Teaby Fire Extinguisher Co. was

featured in a mirrored diorama.

Daphetid has passenger

service. A Drover's caboose

tacked on to the end of a

local freight is switched out

at Gorre and taken up the

branch line to Daphetid.
