Friday, 9 November 2007, 1:00pm

Kohlmeier-Degos Disease (malignant atrophic papulosis) and Buerger’s Disease (thromboangiitis obliterans) are conditions characterized by minimally inflammatory obstruction of medium and small blood vessels. Damage results when tissues are deprived of their blood supply (mostly skin, brain and intestines in Degos; distal extremities in Buerger's). Degos usually presents with a characteristic atrophic papular rash (seen here at right). These diseases are often difficult to diagnose, and treatment options are limited. This First International Medical, Scientific and Patient Conference will explore their pathophysiology and treatment, with an opportunity to see the human side of Degos disease.
